I have two Electronics models equipped with “micro magic” timers. Each model comes with a variable pitch front end with balsa prop blades. These are older generation 6 panel models and so are on sale for $775 (Model #1) and $675 (Model #4). Original asking price for these was $895.

Each model comes with a charging cable that ends in a 3 pin female plug you will need a charger capable of charging 120 mAh batteries.

Note on model #1 the timer is set up for normal competition flying with all of the functions coming in at the appropriate times you do not need any additional equipment. However, you will want to change the DT time to suite conditions and competition requirements. You can change the DT time on the fly by holding the start button and cycling the #1 on/off switch. Then keep holding the start button. When the tone changes, you release the button and it starts to beep out minutes. When the time you want comes up you press the start button once to set it. Then the timer beeps out the DT time and you count to be sure you have the time you need. If it is wrong just repeat the procedure until you get what you need.

On model #4 the timer does not allow for easy reprogramming of the DT time. You have only 120 sec. and 300 sec (5 min) you get the 300 sec. time by flipping the #3 switch and cycling the #1 on/off switch …for this one you should get the Palm pilot mentioned below so that you can set it up as per the #1 model described above. I have discounted the price by $100 to account for this extra hassle.

It is generally not needed but if you really want to program the timing of the various functions then these timers can be programmed with a Palm programming unit but for this you will need to obtain a palm pilot (Palm M500 series available for relatively cheap online) for yourself as well as the programming cable and software available from Roger Morrell. if you want to do this let me know and I will link you with Roger (Black Magic timer wizard).
